H. Moser & Cie, famous manufacturer of luxury watches, presented a concept watch Endeavour Vantablack with a tourbillon – a special device that allows you to neutralize the effects of earth gravity and improve their accuracy.
This watch is unique in everything – starting with the clock face, which is made of the darkest material on Earth Vantablack, consisting of a solid mass of vertical carbon nanotubes 3500 times thinner than human hair. When hitting such a surface, 99.95% of photon light is absorbed, for which it is sometimes compared with a black hole.
Vantablack is used in telescopes, for thermal camouflage, for keeping some equipment hidden, in civil engineering and solar panels.
The elements of the watch case are made of aluminum used in the aerospace industry. It is more durable than ordinary aluminium, yet lighter than brass. As a result, the developers were able to significantly reduce the watch’s inertness, increase its performance and provide it with an improved energy balance.
The Endeavour Vantablack watch will be available in a limited edition of 50 copies at $75,000 each.
