During the last presentation HUAWEI announced the folding Mate Xs smartphone. In addition to the updated processor, the new device has a more durable display surface than its predecessor, as well as a capacitive battery and a powerful charger in the package.
The key feature of the new product is Samsung’s flexible 8-inch AMOLED display. According to the manufacturer, the gadget has an improved swivel mechanism compared to the previous model of the line and 80% more resistant to external influences protective cover. When folded, user receives two 6.6-inch and 6.38-inch screens without a side frame. Thanks to this design, any side of the unit can be used as the main display.
The flagship mobile platform Kirin 990 5G in combination with 8 GB of RAM is responsible for the performance of the smartphone. Built-in 512GB memory drive is designed for operating system, application installation and file storage. Built-in 5G modem allows the device to work in mobile networks of the fifth generation.
Like its predecessor, the device has two built-in batteries with a total capacity of 4500 mAh. For the speed of “charging” the model is responsible for 55 W fast charging technology, capable of “rocking” the battery to 80% of capacity in 30 minutes. New product works under the Android 10 operating system with the proprietary shell EMUI 11.
Main camera with Leica optics is equipped with three sensors. Resolution of the main camera is 40 MP (f/1.8, RYYB-filter, OIS). Auxiliary module for 8 MP is equipped with a telephoto lens with a focal length of 80 mm, triple optical zoom and optical stabilization. The third 16-megapixel sensor has a wide-angle optics and f/2.2 aperture.
Finishes combination of ToF-module for depth determination and scanning of objects in the frame. Maximum frequency of hybrid zoom model is 45x, and the minimum focal length at macro shooting is 2.5 cm. The declared ISO light sensitivity is 204,800 units.
Price of HUAWEI Mate Xs is €2499. In addition, the company introduced a new Wi-Fi 6+ standard router with data transfer rates up to 2,400 MB / s, quad-core processor and 5G router with a download speed of 3.6 Gbit / s in the 5th generation networks.
