TCL company was going to take part in the Mobile World Congress and present a prototype of an unusual smartphone at the exhibition. However, MWC canceled, and images of ” curiosity ” already “leaked” to the web network.

This device is fundamentally different from existing folding smartphones. When their displays are folded in half, but in this smartphone prototype the screen is retractable. At first glance, this is a normal smartphone, more like a waterfall screen. But the display stretches somehow – and the gadget turns into a tablet.

The other half of the screen is hiding inside the case, but it’s not clear how exactly this scheme works. It looks like the thickness of the body will be quite decent because of this design. The smartphone is something like a sliding table: it also moves out on its sides, leaving space for an extra bar in the middle.

So far, it’s just a prototype, although quite unusual. TCL has already shown many different prototypes of folding smartphones, but they have not yet reached the production stage. What fate is waiting for this version, time will show.
