Opera developers have released a new version of the browser for Android with improved support for night mode. Now this function “repaints” into dark not only the elements of control of the browser, including the on-screen keyboard but also the pages themselves.
If desired, users can adjust the degree of darkness and manually set the color temperature. There is also an option to activate the night mode according to the schedule.
Google is also actively experimenting with “switching off the lights”. Released in October, Chrome 78 for computers allows you to force a dark theme on any website – regardless of whether it has this feature. There’s no change to the source code: the browser simply inverts the colors by changing the light tones to darkened ones.
In Opera 55, this function works in a similar way. The app doesn’t just reduce the brightness of white, it also includes its own style sheet that changes, for example, the white background to black. According to the developers, the new night mode in the Android-version of the browser is created from scratch and is fully compatible with color themes that have appeared since October.
