Since the middle of last year, electronics manufacturers have been gradually introducing support for the latest Wi-Fi 6 wireless standard into their devices. Nevertheless, there are almost no models that support this protocol on the TV market yet. Another new product by Samsung based on the MediaTek chip will allow future owners of TVs to get the maximum data transfer rate when watching online broadcasts.
Samsung 8K QLED Y20 series, represented by the Q950 and Q900 models, supports wireless connection speeds of up to 13 Gbps provided that a compatible router is used. At the time of presentation the line of TVs was announced as the only one in the world with such resolution and support for Wi-Fi 6. Its creation has become possible thanks to the cooperation of the South Korean giant with the chip maker MediaTek

“Samsung is a long-standing strategic partner of MediaTek. Its commitment to innovation enables MediaTek to bring innovative solutions to the market. One such example is the Wi-Fi 6 standard. Samsung is driving the growth of the premium smart TV segment, and now we are only at the beginning of global demand for models that support the new wireless protocol,” MediaTek press office.
In the future Samsung, thanks to support of MediaTek, plans to equip with Wi-Fi 6 and more affordable range of its own TVs.
