HUAWEI recently officially introduced the MateBook D. At first sight, in a novelty there are no frankly strong lines which would allocate it among competitors. But in practice at the laptop some qualities worthy of attention were found out. What exactly?
Big screen for solving big problems
One of the main features was the display. The owner of the device gets a high-quality IPS-matrix with Full HD resolution and 15.6 inches diagonal. Now it is not easy to find a laptop of the initial price category with such a screen – it will be either less or more expensive.
Aesthetics is on top: the manufacturer has managed to reduce the size of the frames around the screen as much as possible – the usable area is impressive 83%. Due to this, the 15.6-inch model does not differ in size from the classic laptops with 14-inch displays.
With quality of the image too the full order. First of all, excellent viewing angles attract attention – both in horizontal and vertical planes. This advantage is useful in different environments, from the office, when it is necessary to demonstrate the image to colleagues, to home gatherings for watching a movie. Working in the evenings will please the uniformity of the lighting – often this can not boast even more expensive models. In the daytime, however, the matte finish will be removed from the glare.
The characteristics of the display make MateBook D a good choice both for work and for entertainment related to watching video and other graphic content.
Practical metal case
In an effort to reduce the cost of their devices, manufacturers often save on materials. It seems to be an understandable solution, but in the long run, the body made of cheap plastic spoils, scratches and loses its appearance.
HUAWEI has taken this into account, so the new MateBook D is almost entirely made of aluminum alloy – the only exception is a thin plastic frame around the screen. Plus this solution has many advantages: in addition to the durability of the notebook is also compact – its thickness does not exceed 17 mm, and the weight is no more than 1.9 kg, which allows you to comfortably use it at home and on the road. At metal the pleasant matte invoice – to its advantages it is possible to carry stability to occurrence of prints and divorces.
Creators of MateBook D adhered to minimalistic design, typical for business models and ultrabooks. At a laptop quiet contours, it has done without aggressive colours and breakages of the case which attract attention of game decisions. Such a device is not worthy looks at a workshop or presentation.
Dolby Atmos Sound
We can’t expect any revelations from the laptop acoustics, but we got the maximum out of the novelty. The device is equipped with a pair of speakers with clear and detailed sound – this is especially noticeable in high and medium frequencies. Basses aren’t so confident anymore, but you can’t call a laptop a characterless “squeaker” either. The bonus is attached support of format Dolby Atmos.
