Volkswagen AG, a division of the Czech car manufacturer Skoda, plans to enter the market for electric passenger cars. The first crossover on electric power from Skoda will be called ENYAQ. This name is associated with the Irish name Enya, which means “source of life” and originates from eithne, which means “spirit”.

In designation of the new car is used traditional for Skoda ending on letter Q as in other crossovers KODIAQ, KAROQ and KAMIQ . The first letter of the ENYAQ name is expected to indicate that the car belongs to a series of electric vehicles. Skoda Citigo-e iV became the first serial electric car of Skoda.

Platform for electric crossover Skoda ENYAQ will be the universal platform Volkswagen MEB designed for many models.
Supposedly ENYAQ will be a serial version of the Skoda Vision iV concept, which was demonstrated at the Geneva Motor Show in 2019. In this case, the car will have two 225 kW electric motors, battery capacity of 83 kWh and a range of 500 km when working on a cycle WLTP.
