
Canon has announced the Selphy Square QX10 compact portable photo printer. It is designed to print small colour images from mobile devices and has a built-in rechargeable battery to operate without external power supply.

The Selphy Square QX10 uses thermal sublimation printing technology with solid ink fusion. The image is formed by consecutive application of three colours and a transparent protective layer is applied on top. The resolution is 287 dpi.

Printing is carried out on sheets of special paper of 72×85 mm format. Depending on the chosen settings the size of the output image is 68×68, 65×65 or 62×62 mm.

It takes approximately 43 seconds to print one photo. Up to 10 sheets of photo paper can be loaded into the feed tray simultaneously. The ink cartridge installed in the printer is able to print 20 images.

Mobile application SELPHY Photo Layout 2.0 App, available for free download on the manufacturer’s website, allows you to edit photos before printing, apply art filters and effects, as well as add frames, labels.

According to the manufacturer, a full charge of the built-in battery will be enough to print 20 photos. The battery can be recharged from an external power source with USB output.

Consumables for this model are supplied in the form of Color Ink / Label Set XS – 20L, which will print 20 photo cards.
The printer body size is 102.1×143.5×31.2 mm; weight excluding consumables is 445 g. Color can be selected from four options: black, white, pink and light green.
Retail price of Selphy Square QX10 model in the U.S. will be about 150 dollars. One Color Ink / Label Set XS – 20L consumable set will cost about $ 15.
