Cats, as curious and social animals, feel a certain discomfort in the absence of owners: they want attention and the opportunity to play. The new Ebo companion robot is designed to help solve this problem.
Ebo is a small “bun” with electronic stuffing, which can independently move around the house and entertain a pet that is left alone. The robot rolls from place to place, creates noise, and then turns on the LED screen, amusing his alive “partner”.
The Ebo kit includes several traditional cat toys – a replaceable feather headpiece, a luminous line and a built-in laser pointer that creates a light “bunny” that cats love to pursue.
The robot is durable enough so the cat will not be able to cause any damage. Ebo navigates the room perfectly, detecting obstacles and avoiding them. Its battery life lasts for 2 hours in standalone mode. When the energy level is reduced to a minimum, Ebo returns to the charging station.
For remote control of the robot developers have created a special smartphone application. Along with the standard model there is a more advanced version with elements of artificial intelligence, which analyzes the behavior and mood of the cat, offering it different options for entertainment. There is also a special collar, which tracks the steps of the animal and other parameters indicating his health. This is necessary to evaluate Ebo’s “effectiveness” as a personal trainer.
The robot has already exceeded the planned “bar” of $40,000 at Kickstarter, where it can already be ordered for $158. In the future, its price will increase to $178, and the Pro-version will cost from 198 to 217 dollars with additional accessories. Delivery is scheduled to start in June next year.
